Hello, my name is Lucy Bennett and I am a future Allen & Overy trainee, currently studying the LPC at the University of Law, London Moorgate. As an introduction I will tell you a little about myself. I’m originally from the South Wales valleys, but studied law at the University of Leicester. I graduated earlier this year – in fact a fortnight after I started the LPC! I was offered my training contract with the firm after my vacation schemes in London and Frankfurt last summer. Having loved both experiences I was delighted to take up the offer of the training contract and haven’t looked back since!
So far the LPC is proving as challenging as suspected. We have already undertaken our first exam and are in the process of undertaking our mocks for the course’s core modules. The accelerated nature of the LPC does make time management a very important skill and one that we all very quickly have had to develop! The combination of electronic submissions of work as well as preparation for workshops keeps us all on our toes, but we have found time to socialise and get to know each other over the last couple of months, making the experience a whole lot more enjoyable.
Although this entry is just a short introduction, through my blog I hope to keep you up to date on how the LPC progresses and as times passes, the consideration of seat choices in anticipation of starting the training contract in March.
