Your career path
Starting a training contract with Allen & Overy is just the beginning of what will be a stimulating and rewarding legal career. Throughout the two years of your training contract, we will work closely with you to ensure you have the right support to develop into a successful commercial solicitor.
Your route to qualification
The partners and associates you work alongside will ensure you are given variety and responsibility in your work. You will be expected to use your initiative but always safe in the knowledge that you have a strong network of resources and support behind you.
The combination of three and six month seats, and the opportunities to undertake international and client secondments during the second year of training, will allow you to experience the breadth of our work whilst ensuring you gain the depth of knowledge to help you make informed qualification choices. We train our lawyers with the future in mind and want you to succeed and develop a long-term career with Allen & Overy and our retention rates on qualification - on average 83% - reflect this. Usually our associates will have been with the firm as associates for six or seven years before being considered for partnership. The majority of our partners in London trained with the firm.
