All of our future trainees are entitled to receive a £500 interest free loan and a £500 award during their GDL/LPC year(s).

The £500 interest free loan is repayable in twelve monthly instalments once you commence your training contract and is usually used to fund general travel, charitable endeavours or gap year excursions. The loan is particularly helpful if you plan to take a year out before joining us. We recognise that the loan can help in other situations and will consider other applications as well.

The £500 award, which you do not have to repay, is reserved for activities that will directly enhance your skills for your training contract, typically a formal language course, additional legal qualifications or undertaking a pro-bono or community initiative. This award can also be used to purchase computer equipment from which you may benefit during your studies.

To receive a loan and/or an award, you should email Lauren Baldwin  with the details of the activity you would like to undertake and the costs involved. If requesting a laptop you must send Lauren a copy of the receipt or a breakdown of all the costs, and an official document confirming the amount.

We offer an additional £500 award if you obtain a first class degree and/or a Distinction in your LPC. To qualify for this award you should contact Lauren, forwarding a copy of your degree certificate and/or your LPC results.

Please note that you can apply for the loan and award at any point before joining the firm; however there is a maximum of £1,000 available per person.
