 GRADUATE RECRUITMENT UPDATES

We have started to plan our Milkround tour for October and November 2008.  Click here to see when we are visiting your university!

The LawCareers.Net 2008 "Training & Recruitment" award ceremony took place on 5th June and Allen & Overy were named as "Best Trainer - Large City Firm".

These awards are based on a on-line survey which was completed by trainees and newly qualified lawyers at a number of firms earlier this year.  The survey measured each firm's recruitment and training activities over the last 12 months, looking ultimately to find the UK firm who does this best.  This year saw the biggest ever response to the survey, with over 3,000 people participating.

Allen & Overy were up against strong competition from Baker & McKenzie, Berwin Leighton Paisner, Bird & Bird, Clifford Chance, Simmons & Simmons and Taylor Wessing.

Two lovely comments from A&O survey respondents, were quoted in support of our winning entry.  "In recruiting and maintaining its employees the firm takes a keen interest in developing your role here.  This is done in a variety of ways, whether they be through mentoring by your trainer or attending a variety of departmental or training contract courses."

"People at every level of the firm, from assistants in the print room to PAs, other trainees, associates, partners and even heads of department, all go out of their way to help you.  There is a good balance between support and supervision and being allowed to develop and work independently."

We are realy proud to have won this accolade and thank all of our trainees and associates who helped us win the title.
